Everything is Okay!

A quick shout out to my friend Jenn, before she has a cow and calls the cops. The Bang I heard while doing last post was indeed nothing. Just the kids screwing around in the living room and knocking the wipes container off the coffee table.

If you are interested in a well written interesting blog, be sure to check out my friend Tracey.

Went running today at lunch. It was nice in the cooler weather we have today. I didn't sweat sooooo much.

We had our TOPS weigh in yesterday and I lost 2.3 lbs, so it appears the running is working. Hopefully, I can maintain the loss into the next week. But I won't be disappointed if I don't. I already fit into a pair of capris that were tagged for donation because they were too tight when I tried them on at the beginning of April. WOOT! I am so excited.

Nothing particularly witting or interesting to say today.

I have read sTORI Telling by Tori Spelling. It was a quick read and not a bad book. But tragically I think that is because I got hooked on Tori and Dean : INN LOVE because I am mentally unstable. So take that for what it is worth.

I guess I have a better appreciation for the fact that what you see on the outside is not always how it is on the inside. This book is a great read for anyone who enjoys knowing that everybody else's problems are just like yours.

Mudpuppies

Well with so many of my fellow bloggers doing great and inspiring things... an invitation came across my desk this week that I could not refuse.

Although my TOPS (aka FAT Club) is going well. I am down about 7lbs. I realize that in order to maintain and keep losing I actually do have to do some ACTIVITY (there I said it outloud) UGH!

As my company is sponsoring a run/walk for the Children's Treatment Centre that my son attends I thought this would be a great event to work towards and participate in.

It is something that is very important to me and so hopefully enough motivation for me to get off my ASS and participate.

So our family is participating in the 3km part of the Annual Mudpuppy Chase to raise money for KidsAbility. WOOT! (to borrow an exclamation from Kal)

Phase one of training:
Walking the dog 30 mins each night! We'll see how the weekend goes!

Happy Friday!

My thoughts are with my friend who is having a sad week and needs lots of energy sent her way! May you have the light that lifts your heart my friend.

Running

Today is a running day. We slept in...running to get everyone ready to go. Running to work. Running back to pick up bug for a clinic appt and then therapy appt. Then hopefully have a few moments to run to Big Name craft store for few Easter props and not spending more than 20 bucks then running back to work for a few hours and then running home to get dinner for family.

Running, Running Running. Who do I look like Forrest Gump!

PS Fat club update last week 150.9. this week 150.8 I guess it's still progress.

Aack! Lack of Discipline

Today is TOPS day, or as you have come to know it FAT CLUB. I am NOT excited as I have NOT been very good this week about anything. Let's see the FOUR rules I set for myself:

1) No eating after 7pm (maybe 2 nights out of the last 7) (Very poor)
2) No alcohol (This I did well, nothing all week, not a drop!)
3) Exercise (not so much, some core training with the big ball )
4) No snacking at my desk (3 chocolate bars, 1 pkg starbursts, 1 pkg fruit gummies, Gum) (VERY VERY POOR)

So I am not expecting too much from the scale today except maybe to go up a point or two.

However, I did take action to remedy this situation and to get it together. I spent the weekend cooking and portioning out food, this way all my meals are planned and snacks are ready to be packed as well as lunches.

This week I am going for the big 2 lb loss again.

Here's to fruit and veggies!

Saturday Morning Post - Fat Club update

So here we are.

Coffee in hand, Laundry in, children playing.....

I have to admit that I don't have much to say today I think I am having a blogger block.

Or it could be the deprivation of junk food and beer that is clouding my mind and I can't seem to have a coherent thought.

I am hungry... It's not that I am starving myself because I am not. I am actually eating more calories, just better quality food. I actually feel better, I have not had that tired feeling in the morning. When I open my eyes I am actually ready to wake up, not get in a full blown argument with myself about why 7 mins will make me feel so much better.

But I am hungry, I just want a handful of chips or a cookie.

So yesterday on Day 4 of this new Fat Club plan. I broke down and bought one of those cookie packs from our vending machine at work. Two Oatmeal Raisin cookies never tasted so good! It did the trick though for the rest of the afternoon, atleast I could concentrate on work and not be obsessed about food.

I think its the not eating after 7pm that's killing me. I am going to bed hungry every night.

The Pay off - already a pair of my pants that have always fit tight, went on a little smoother today. Now I haven't worn them since before Christmas because I knew I would not be able to get into them over Christmas.

So I know this will be good for me (and the extra 15lbs I need to get rid of) and my heart health.

Viva FAT CLUB!

Fat Club

We have started this new "Wellness initiative" at work. The goal and focus this year is to work on our "heart health".

Or as I like to call it FAT CLUB.

This week on Tuesday was our first meeting in which we signed up for our chosen program which is called TOPS (Taking off pounds sensibly. This included filling in various forms and receiving a booklet about preparing for a healthy lifestyle.

To summarize: Move your ass, Put the fork down.

Then we had a weigh in ugg! Although my superior self esteem does not consider myself fat. I must admit that after 2 babies and not so much physical activity I am shall we say SOFT. This was particularly noted yesterday after shoveling out the bus 2 times and the driveway. OUCH! My back is sore.

I have been watching my food intake and even put it into this cool program called EATracker.

It told me that I am eating too many carbs (duh) and not enough veggies (double duh).

I am having a little competition with the lady that sits across from me at work as we both love the chocolate, the beer, and the chips and dip. Here are our goals for the first week:

No Beer during the week
No eating after 7pm
No junk food (totally suckie rule)
Exercise 3 times a week for 20 mins

I will let you know if this deprivation made a difference on Tuesday at my next FAT CLUB Meeting.
